Why have an event planner?

One of the many questions that I get asked is "why should I have an event planner?" This is normally followed by "they are too expensive", or "they will just take over". Well, I'm here to let you know that this is simply not the case - in fact, on the contrary, planners are there to save you money and to bring your event to life.

Parties can take time to organise but did you know that the average wedding can take 250 plus hours to plan? This equates to 6 weeks of a full time job. Juggling a demanding job, long hours and social commitments means you are already busy before you add wedding planning into the mix. This is where having a planner can help. Enlisting their support will give you peace of mind and it will be like having your very own confidant, friend, wedding PA and mentor on tap.

One of the most common myths of having an event planner, is that they are only for celebrities or the rich. Well this couldn't be further from the truth! I cater for all types of clients and 99% of them are regular, busy people who value their time and peace of mind. There is nothing "diva-ish" about asking for support and help from an expert. Let's face it, if you decided to build your own house, you wouldn't draw the plans yourself - you would ask an architect. I can work with a variety of budgets and can offer bespoke packages as well as set packages - all to suit your needs.

Another misconception is that a planner will encourage you to spend money and to go over budget. This again, is one I am happy to dispel. Sticking to a detailed budget is paramount and as a planner, it is my job to ensure that not only is your vision brought to life, but is within budget too.

A lot of clients state that one of the main reasons for hiring a planner is that they alleviate the stress and strain of the planning. If you sat down and thought about how much free time you have to plan your event, it could leave you feeling overwhelmed and pressured about the timescale. At the end of the day, the important thing is that you enjoy the event you are putting on so by handing over the management of all aspects of the event, having someone to deal with any issues that may arise too, will leave you calm, reassured and ready to party.

A good event planner will always listen, support and work with you - collaboration is key! Planning any event should be fun - so rest assured planners are not there to take over. You will always be in control and they are there simply to enhance your event. It will always be about you and your vision - I will make this happen, keeping you in constant communication during the entire process.

Event planners can be a great investment, so if you are looking for support in organising your party or wedding, then please get in touch. I can help and can't wait to hear from you.
