Charity Begins at home......

There is nothing nicer than to show your appreciation to your guests for coming to share your wonderful

day with you. It doesn’t have to be anything extravagant so don’t feel that you have to spend a fortune! Gone are the days of the sugared almonds in little tulle bags or foil wrapped chocolates. (Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing bad about these – I had foil wrapped chocolate hearts for my favours when I got married!!) I do just think that in this day and age, there are so many worthy causes that are always finding ways to raise money so why not put the two together?

I love some of the ideas that these charities have come up with and they are inexpensive too which is an added bonus! So below are some of what is on offer.

Macmillan Cancer Support

I love these! There are some beautiful pin badges which come in a variety of colours and styles and at £1.20-£1.60 each (they come in packs of 10) are value for money too. Check out the website at https://shop.macmillan.org.uk/collections/weddings

The Dogs Trust

This is one close to my heart as I adopted my little Jack Russell CJ from here. But these are great for any dog lover! There are some official Dogs Trust Lapel pins as well as some exclusively designed cards (4 options) showing that you have donated.

If you are planning on having your dog as a guest of honour on your big day, these bandanas are super cute! They are £6 for a small one and £8 for a larger one – a price not to be sniffed at! Go and have a butchers at the website - https://www.dogstrust.org.uk/get-involved/wedding-favours/

Alzheimer's Association

OMG – what beautiful jewellery and even better if your colour scheme is blue or you have forget-me-nots in your flowers – this is definitely the site for you! You have the choice of pin badges, key rings as well as place setting cards but it’s the bracelets and necklaces that sell it for me! They are a little expensive for favours, but would be great as gifts for your wedding party. Have a look at the website to see what I mean - https://shop.alzheimers.org.uk/weddings-and-celebrations?page=all

Mind

I love, love, love the idea of these sunflower seeds. What a wonderful way of de-stigmatising mental health issues by bringing some sunshine on your special day. At only £1.20 per pack (£12 for a pack of 10), these are a great way of showing people that they are not on their own when dealing with mental health. They also do pin badges and donation cards so go and have a peepers at the website https://shop.mind.org.uk/collections/giving-in-celebration

Cancer Research

This charity has really embraced the wedding favours market – we have a choice of traditional, premium or novelty options! For the traditional, we have pin badges all ranging from £2 each – meaningful designs such as a silver dove, angel or cross. For the premium designs, we have pin badges but also flower seeds, tiepin and even confetti. The novelty ones are just that – a bit more “out there” in design – unicorn and moustache pin badges as well as the flower seeds. The younger members of your guests will love these! https://shop.cancerresearchuk.org/charity-wedding-favours
